Eight adventurous women from across Florida joined the “Ladies, Let’s Go Fishing” event in Naples on April 25, heading 30 miles offshore with A&B Charters to experience a day of learning and angling. The ladies hooked an impressive 330 fish – 27 of which were kept, including five keeper red grouper.

Fishing in calm seas, the group reeled in lane, vermilion and mangrove snapper, as well as red grouper, white grunts and more. Instruction was provided onboard, helping both beginners and experienced anglers build confidence and skill.

“Fishing is much more than catching fish – it’s about building confidence, learning new skills and creating unforgettable memories on the water,” said Betty Bauman, founder of LLGF. “Seeing women land their first offshore fish species or discover a new passion for the sport is what makes these programs so rewarding.”

Ladies, Let’s Go Fishing offers a variety of programs throughout Florida to empower women through fishing and connect them with like-minded peers. Most events include classroom education paired with hands-on fishing, while others take place entirely on the water to help women learn or sharpen their skills in real time.

Upcoming 2026 events, all including fishing, include:
